PROPOSED RATE INCREASES FOR WATER, SEWER, AND GARBAGE SERVICES

  Tuesday, June 2, 2009, the Sunnyvale City Council will hold a public hearing regarding proposed changes to utility rates for City-provided water, sewer and garbage services. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located at 456 W. Olive Avenue. Sand Hill Project Update

SandHillProjectBuildings Erection of the steel frame for the northerly portion of the new Target store building continues. Installation of heating and air conditioning ducts has also begun.

Building the forms for the interior cast-in-place columns and walls for the new Target store parking garage continues. Curbs and gutters were placed along Murphy Avenue from McKinley to Iowa avenues, and on McKinley Avenue from Murphy Avenue to Sunnyvale Avenue was completed in April.

The east side of the Town Center project area remains closed to the public from McKinley Avenue south to Iowa Avenue, and from Sunnyvale Avenue west to Mathilda Avenue. The sidewalk on the west side of Sunnyvale Avenue, from McKinley Avenue to Iowa Avenue, is closed due to project work and will remain closed until spring 2010. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the east side of Sunnyvale Avenue.

Downtown Sunnyvale visitors and shoppers are encouraged to park in the new parking structure on the west side of Macy's. The entrance to three new levels of parking is from Taaffe Street, south of Washington Avenue.

Brand New Jazz & Beyond Series - July 11th-August 29th, 2009 

Every Saturday beginning July 11th come on down to Downtown Sunnyvale, Murphy Avenue, for one of the most huge listening and dining outdoor experiences you will ever have!

2009 Howl'oween Pet Parade

We are looking for up to 3 BID members and/or residents of the community to be on the Howl'oween Pet Parade Committee. Duties include but not limited to: planning, event policy, marketing and sponsorship solicitation. We currently meet one Wednesday per month, noon at city hall.
